Can I use my student card from last year with my SPC card?

My student ID card from last year (grade 9) has 2009-2010 on it, but at the bottom is also has 9 and then my homeroom number from last year. I'm in grade ten now. Will they accept this ID card or do I need to buy my new one from this year?
