A few questions on Atticus finch...?

I like the thesis. Atticus Finch rises to the challenge, in spite of what others think or what could happen. He kills the rabid dog to protect others. He defends the black man in spite of town pressure to simply find the man guilty because the man should have a defense attorney and a fair trial, no matter the color of his skin. He very quietly follows an honorable course in life and rises to challenges when they present themselves.
