How to reword taking things for granted? EASY! :)?

I am trying to write my theis for Night by elie wiesel and i believe that the theme is that one should not take things for granted. But a lot of people in my cl are doing similar thesis' so i want to rephrase mine so that it gives the same idea just in different words! thanks!!
