Is my boyfriend in denial about no longer having feelings for his ex?

I think he still cares for her, if he didn't he wouldn't be texting her at all. Maybe you can try asking him about his ex, ask if they still talk or what happened w/ them, and if he says they don't talk anymore, well then you know he's lying. Idk honestly I don't think ex's of 2 years could be just friends esp if they've been hooking up and all after they split.
