Why are people arguing to have creationism taught in schools?

It is NOT science. Evolution is science supported by a lot of evidence. It is not supposed to explain how the universe came into existence, but the fact that we evolved. Creationism on the other hand has zero evidence, absolutely nothing, and is not even science. Why would someone even consider it being taught!??!?
