So the darker the glucose strip, the more glucose there is in the solution?

Im doing a lab for bio, and we placed a glucose strip into an iodine solution. We put multiple strips into the iodine, and one into a starch solution, that had a little bit of iodine. the last strip was black, what does that mean, was there a lot of glucose in the solution or less? thanks!
